Why my child won’t speak up to me
Below are some reasons your child may not speak up to you.
You may want to review these areas with your child to reassure them that
speaking up to you is the right thing to do.
1. Afraid you will cause a big scene.
Answer: Try to meet with the principal before or after school when other students are not present.
2. Embarrass them in front of their peers.
Answer: Remember the school is always concerned about your child safety – stay calm and be respectful with school authorities.
3. Make it worse than it already is.
Answer: Talk with your child and reassure them that it will only get worse if something isn’t done.
