Ideas to get your child to talk to you
Having two girls, I know how hard it can be to get them to talk. They often respond by saying, “Yeah, uh-huh, yes, no”.
You got it, one-word answers.
My mentor taught me that there are 3 categories that people like to talk about. When I learned this, I immediately understood which categories my daughters like to talk about.
The 3 categories are:
- People like to talk about themselves
- People like to talk about other people
- People like to talk about events or objects
Find which category your child falls into. This may help them open up and start a lengthier conversation.
